Things are speeding up around here. As I desperately search for a way to make some money, I also have school work to focus on. My classes are going well and I'm enjoying this semester thus far. I miss my friends who are abroad so I am keeping up with their new foreign lifestyles over Facebook and their blogs.
During practicum today (a class that helps students prepare their resumes and prepare for the real world through an internship opportunity), we discussed what we think we would be doing in five years. I'm terrified. As the only junior in the class, I know I have an extra year to think about what I want to do after college but right now I am so lost. Do I want to live in a city? Do I want to move west? I have been thinking about going to graduate school to get my masters for a while now and it will give me the opportunity to do something new. Personally, I would like to work at the college I go to for my masters so that I can attend for free. If I have the opportunity to go west after college, I should take it. I guess I'm just nervous about moving too far away from home. Although, Brooklyn is also a cool place or maybe even as close as Boston. I fell in love with the North End when I stayed at my friend's apartment there. My mind changes everyday but I realized that I have never thought about changing my major which surprises me.
I am going to start my internship at Vermont Family Network within the next week or so. Interning at a non-profit will be a great experience especially because I will be able to incorporate my Peace and Justice Minor.
Anyway, let's get off the topic of all this school business. This weekend, I am attending a Student Global AIDS Conference at Harvard. Ok maybe this isn't exactly OFF the topic of school business but I am looking forward to it. I will be going with some of the people I traveled to DC with last semester and it will be great to be back in the Boston area for the weekend. The group will be staying at my friend Alexsis's house in Medford and I'm excited to meet her fam! The following Monday I am going to see Robyn at Higher Ground with my friend, Mia. So pumped about that because now that I am 21 I can drink at the venue. I need to find an outfit ASAP. Platos closet perhaps?
Well, I'm off to watch Seinfeld with the roomies.
Adios.

Mr. Freeeeeze!
According to the Burlington Free Press, the temperature reached 19 below at the National Weather Service offices in South Burlington. That's just short of a record low of 22 below set in 1948.
It is fu&%#@! cold out.
This is an e-mail I received this morning when I was about to walk out of my suite.
Hello,
It is 15 degrees below zero this morning. Ten minutes outside with unprotected skin WILL cause frostbite. Please make sure you cover your skin and wear a hat and gloves today. Symptoms of frostbite include cold, painful or numb skin with color ranging from very pale to dark. If you suspect frostbite, warm the skin slowly in warm, not hot air or water. Visit Student Health Services if you see blistering or darkening of the skin or if you are experiencing pain at the site.
STAY COVERED, STAY WARM AND STAY INSIDE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TODAY!!
Hopefully temps are up tomorrow.
I am taking a yoga class tonight. It is called Vinyasa Yoga. The word Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement."
It is only ten dollars for six weeks! Count me in. This will be a great way to reduce stress.

Internship!
This semester I am taking a class in which I have to do an internship and explain what I do each week. I was having trouble deciding where I wanted to intern. I was set on a newspaper at first like Seven Days or Burlington Free Press but then I started to think about non-profits and incorporating my peace and justice minor in journalism a bit. After talking to my professor, she told me about Vermont Family Network. VFN focuses on helping children and young adults with special needs while also promoting better heath, education and well-being for children and familes in Vermont.
My boyfriend's mom currently works with special needs students at an elementary school in Connecticutt and hopefully she will be happy to hear what I will be doing for the semester. It feels good to change it up and it will be nice to get off campus during the week. From the website, I see that I will be working in Williston, which is only a little ways from campus.
Homework awaits.

Currently, I am next to my sleeping boyfriend and it isn't even 12 yet. Dammit. I'm lonely and awake because I drank too much tea. My second day of classes went well. I'm really starting to dig my schedule because it is so much better than last semester. After having the usual "I have no money and I really need to get my books, can you put some money into my account?" argument with my mother, I felt the need to walk in the cold and apply at PK Cafe, a sandwich shop across from SMC. I was able to talk to the whom I think was the manager but I'm not sure. She said she has a full staff but that can change "rapidly". $$$$ please?
So, one of my best friends is abroad so I am trying to live vicariously through her blog and so far it's working. She is in Copenhagan, Denmark, "the happiest place in the world", so I've heard. Can't wait to hear about more of her adverntures in the forgeign land. I also added my other friend Sammy, who is in Australia. I'm jeal of course because the weather is beautiful there at this time of year. I will also live vicariously through her blog as well.
I had my first Global Comm. class today. Let's just say I've been hearing horrible things about this class since I was a freshman. I'm not too worried about the work. If I keep up with everything, it will be gravy.
Just woke Greg from his slumber do to snoring. I think it is time to go.
Found out about some internships I can possibly do in the summer. Progress points. Wahoo. I'm working towards my goal of getting an apartment in Burlington this summer. Twenty-one in a new city for the summer sounds grand.

Back into the swing of things...
Since turning 21, I have made a goal that I will keep up with my blog and update it regularly. I can't believe it is 2011. Nov. 11, 2011 better be a lucky day. I can only imagine how many people are planning their weddings for that day. On Oct. 10, 2010, a ridiculous amount of people in China got married.
Anywho, I am back from winter break and getting back into the swing of things. Today I had my first class as Online Editor of my school newspaper, The Defender. There are only eight students on staff plus the executive editor (Kelley), managing editor (Sam), and myself. I am hoping that one of the staff members will sign up to help me with the online paper... So far I haven't seen a lot of interest so we'll see what is in store.
Out of control is an understatement if I had to use a word to describe my 21st birthday. My friends and I spent the night in the North End of Boston. I have plans on living there after I graduate but I can dream big, it's fine. So, we stayed at my friend, Tanya's place on Hanover St. and when we started partying around 8 p.m., things went downhill. I was reminded that I tried to buy everyone at the car a tequilla shot before I was stopped. Lets just say I didn't really move much for the next couple of days.

I did get a new haircut though! I cut off about 7 inches or more I'd say. A change was very necessary because it was starting to turn into a fire hazard.

Need to buy my Robyn ticket A.S.A.P. She's coming to Higher Ground. I just started listening to her after my friend, Mia told me she had a couple new songs out and I'm obsessed. Great dancing music.
